Candidate for Surveyor in Owen County, Jerry Wayne Reynolds, stepped up to answer the call when one of the little free pantries in the Cataract region of Owen County experienced some damage. Not only did Jerry patch up the missing bottom shelf, but he did some repairs on the hinges as well! This spirit of civic duty and philanthropy is something we should strive for in all of our representatives.

Our wonderful community partners Pantry 279 are bringing the magic again this Thanksgiving! Starting at 1pm today, you can sign up to receive a thanksgiving meal delivered! The food will be delivered the Thursday prior to Thanksgiving, and typically includes a turkey and all the trimmings!

Tuesday, Sept 1 after 1pm Thanksgiving sign up will go LIVE! That day, as if by magic, a Thanksgiving link will appear on our website www.pantry279.org It will NOT appear until then. Not only can families who need help sign up to receive a Thanksgiving Kindness Box, BUT we can start getting monetary donations for turkeys and other food items we will need, you can sign up to promise to donation food, and sign up to volunteer! I can't believe it's already that time! Before you ask, we have 0 turkeys ordered or promised this year, it was not even offered. But I know things will work out! This community pulls off miracles everyday! How??? I don't know, it's a mystery :)

Our team of door knockers hit the streets this afternoon! Spreading voter information and finding out what matters most to our neighbors!

Ready for the rubber to meet the road? We are! We will be door knocking tomorrow from 3pm-5pm! We will meet at Democratic HQ (152 E. Jefferson Street, Spencer) to pair up, get our turf assignments, and head out!

What do you need? Ideally atleast one in each pair will have a smart phone, but both of you will need to bring your love of democracy and desire to make our community a better place!
