Cataract Falls, Indiana

Cataract Falls, Indiana Cataract Falls is located on Mill Creek, in Northern Owen County, Indiana. Cataract Falls consists of two sets of waterfalls "Upper Falls" and "Lower Falls".

Separated by about 1 mile. Both falls consist of a series of drops. The total height of the Upper Falls is approximately 45ft. while that of the Lower Falls is about 30 ft. Cataract Falls is the largest waterfall by volume in Indiana.

"Here are some before and after photos from the lower falls area this week. The water has been going down about a ft. a day and has been leaving a lot of debris behind. A big pat on the back for all our employees who have been working hard to get this area cleaned up for the weekend."

This is what the Lower Falls Parking Lot looks like today with Cagles Mill lake elevation at 676.41' (approximately 37' above summer pool).

For the locals, if we reach 676.6' the Doe Creek Bridge on SR 42 will be under water. With rain in the forecast and us unable to release much water, plan for using alternate routes.
