This is my Bio. Please feel free to ask any questions.
My name is Angela (Angi) Wood-Frank and I would like to announce my candidacy for Owen County Coroner. I am a lifelong Owen County resident, have grown up surrounded by local politics and know the importance of public service in our community. Regardless of my personal life, I have always been drawn to local public service.
I am the daughter of Cindy Ranard-Wood and former Owen County Council President and Auditor, the late Michael L Wood. My grandfather (Paul Wood) and my father (Michael L Wood) both served as Chairmen of the Owen County Republican Party for many years. During those years, I enjoyed assisting with many Lincoln Day Dinners, chili suppers, and elections. I served on the Poland Fire Territory for 10 years, filling many rolls as a firefighter, Safety Officer and Emergency Medical Responder, among others. I have obtained many state certifications throughout my career related to firefighting and first responder training; and believe in the importance of continuing education.
I have served as the Director of the former Owen County Recycling Center, reviving many of the programs that the once vital community service offered under its namesake, Bob Clark. I found value in in placing recycle bins in local schools and working with the Owen County Probation & Community Corrections to utilize community service workers to reduce cost. I am a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Shiloh Wesley Methodist Church, where I have served as treasure, and trustee.
I’ve been a member of the Indiana Coroners Association and an Indiana State certified Medico-legal death investigator for almost 10 years. During my years as a public servant I have assisted several different coroners dating back to the year 2000. When it comes to death investigations I have been involved in all types including high profile cases. They has given me the opportunity to work alongside of forensic pathologists, state and local law enforcement, investigators, and prosecutors to determine cause and manner of death. I’m a 1991 graduate of Owen Valley High school and obtained an Associates Degree in Dental Assisting and Radiographics from the Professional Careers Institute.
I have been married to the love of my life, Stan Frank, for 22 years. We are the proud parents of Dusty Summitt, Zoeann Frank and Michael Frank. We are also blessed with five grandchildren, two of which we are raising and in the process of adoption; better known to many as Hank and baby Lillee.
If given the opportunity to serve as your Owen County Coroner, I would continue to provide the people of Owen County with professionalism, dedication and compassion. Owen County residents deserve nothing less. A vote for Angela Wood-Frank is a vote for Experience, Proven Leadership, Honesty and Good Family Values. Vote Frank for Coroner in 2018.
