Come along with me on a special track. My little girl's first deer of the season and Dax's first recovery. From jumping a healthy deer at the hit sight to the smiles at the end and the comedy show that is our life.

Dax on his 1st track. We jumped a deer at the hit site... I thought it was going to be a money show but he proved me wrong. This pup seems to love the game.

What's your must-have gear for the season and for off-season training?

For me, a good headlamp and an even better flashlight are at the top of the list during the season and I have to admit, I have some pretty good ones. For off season training, high visibility flagging and a good sturdy piece of hide.

Nala-1st big girl training track.

Nala said hold my squeaky toy and watch this mom. Multiple deer at the feeder at the time and one dropped where it was shot. This one was high shoulder hit with zero blood to follow. Montana was there in case she got into a bind but Nala showed up and showed out and rolled this one up in minutes. This heifer even jumped in the front seat of the side x side and rode back with the hunters while me and Montana walked. She is a hoot.
