A major winter storm is expected to impact Illinois this weekend that could bring multiple rounds of accumulating snow to southern and central IL and potentially life-threatening temperatures to central and northern IL. Round 1 is projected to be early Saturday afternoon through mid-evening. Round 2 is expected to happen late Sunday morning through early evening. Hazardous driving conditions, road closures, and disruptions to infrastructure may occur. Extreme cold temperatures are expected in northern and central IL Friday and Saturday morning.
