LAST CALL FOR 2026 SPARTANBURG PARKS SWEETHEART DANCE TICKETS!

Registration for this year's dance will close tomorrow (Wednesday, February 25th) at noon, so buy your tickets today while you still can!

This year's theme is Denim & Diamonds, so think fancy with a western flair!

This dance is for girls ages 5+, along with their fathers or father figures.

Guests will enjoy a BBQ dinner, a special visit from the Balloon Fairy, a DIY (decorate-it-yourself) cowboy hat station, dancing, a photo booth and plenty of prize giveaways!

With another round of winter weather heading our way, we will be closing all parks by 7:00 p.m. tonight. They will remain closed until it is safe to reopen them.

We know it may be tempting to come to our parks to sled or play in the snow, but for everyone's safety, we're asking you to please play at home. All park gates will be locked.

If you have a reservation at one of our facilities this weekend, you should have already been contacted.

All Spartanburg County Parks Department offices and community centers (including fitness centers) will reopen tomorrow morning, Wednesday, January 28th, resuming normal operations.

Our maintenance crews will begin assessing the parks first thing in the morning, determining if they are safe to reopen, or if some need to remain closed due to icy conditions. Please check back for more information as it becomes available.

For everyone's safety, all Spartanburg County parks, community centers and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 27th.

Spartanburg County Emergency Management reminds everyone there will be a high risk for icy roads in the morning, as everything will refreeze overnight. We hope you and your families continue to stay safe and warm! ❄

Spartanburg County Emergency Management is encouraging you to stay home if you can, since the roads are icy and dangerous. Stay warm and safe! ❄️

WINTER WEATHER UPDATE!

❄ All parks and facilities will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
(ACE After-School programs will close as scheduled at 6:00 p.m.)

❄ That includes fitness centers located inside community centers and any scheduled programs, besides ACE.

❄ Staff will begin winterizing/preparing restrooms today, so some park restrooms may be closed prior to 5 p.m. on Friday.

❄ Everything will remain closed until conditions improve and it is safe to reopen.

Please keep in mind that we operate 100+ facilities spread out across Spartanburg County.

To ensure our staff has adequate time to prep those buildings/parks for impending power outages and winter weather, and then get home safely themselves before the storm hits, we made the decision to close everything on Friday evening.

We appreciate your patience as we do our best to protect our facilities and parks from any potential storm damage.

Due to the rain expected tomorrow (Wednesday, October 29th), Boo Bash is being moved from Cleveland Park to the Dr. T.K. Gregg Community Center.

Our friends at the City of Spartanburg Parks, Recreation & Special Eventsal Events are kind enough to let us use their space, so we can still hold this popular event just down the street from Cleveland Park!

You may park in the community center parking lot and additional overflow parking will be available at Cleveland Academy next door.

As the Labor Day weekend approaches, just a heads up our operating schedule will be changing a bit.

Our offices and community centers will be closed on Monday, September 1st.

All parks, playgrounds, splash pads and fitness centers (key fob access only) will be open.

Registration is now open for our Spartanburg Parks 2025 50+ Daytrippers outings! These trips are for anyone 50 and older who are looking to have some fun and make new friends!

Have a safe and happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

Happy (almost) 4th of July!

Our offices, community centers and kayak/paddleboard rentals will be closed on Friday, July 4th. All parks, playgrounds, splash pads and fitness centers (key fob access only) will be open.

Kayak and paddleboard rentals will resume at Lake Cooley on Saturday, July 5th from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. (last boats go out at 5 p.m.).

Last night's storm left debris all over Cleveland Park, including the playground.

The playground will be closed until noon today so our maintenance crews can clean up the mess. We appreciate your patience.
