Nannie Jefferies, Pastor at Maranatha Free Church of Jesus Christ and Executive Director of Angels Charge Ministry recognized the need for this program after seeing "a revolving door" of women returning to jail multiple times. When she listened to these women she realized that a large part of their problem was due to the fact that they had to return to the very same environment they came from, th
erefore they repeated the same mistakes and returned to jail. This ministry provides women with safe Transitional Housing once they are released from jail. They also receive personal Case Management which includes: health care, assistance with community resources, enrolling in GED programs, budgeting skills, help with finding jobs, and transportation to jobs and interviews. Women in our program also receive counseling for domestic violence, drug addiction, and other issues based on their needs. Our ultimate goal is to help each woman find her way out to a new life and become a successful citizen in our community.
