Spartanburg Area Transportation Study SPATS is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Spartanburg urban area.

The Spartanburg Area Transportation Study (SPATS) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Spartanburg urban area, and is responsible for planning and programming federal transportation funds to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of people and goods within and through the Spartanburg area while considering regional coordination for regional challenges.

So... what's next for the 2050 LRTP Update, you may ask?! ๐Ÿ˜

Weโ€™re glad you asked!

Now that Round 1 of public engagement is complete, SPATS and our consultant team will be reviewing all of the feedback received through the public meetings, stakeholder meetings, MetroQuest survey, Virtual Room, and comment forms. That input will help shape the next phases of the plan as we identify transportation needs, evaluate projects, and develop recommendations for the future.

Check out the anticipated timeline below to see whatโ€™s coming next as we work toward adoption of the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan.

Congratulations to Mayor Huff on his 25-Year milestone!! We want to thank him for his many years of excellent vision and leadership! SPATS includes 12 cities/towns within our urban boundary, and Inman is certainly one of the most active places! We look forward to future developments and Policy Committee engagements! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰
