Twenty-five years later, we remember.

The USC Upstate community gathered to remember the 2,977 lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, honor the first responders and survivors, and recognize those who continue to serve with courage and sacrifice.

The ceremony featured remarks from Chancellor Bennie Harris and Ret. U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Glenn Davis, as well as an invocation by Matthew Scruggs, chaplain of the Chesnee Community Fire Department.

The USC Upstate Gospel Choir and City of Greenville Pipe and Drums also helped us honor this occasion.

We will never forget.

25 years later, we remember.

On Sept. 11, 2001, our nation was forever changed. This year, USC Upstate will mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 by honoring those whose lives were lost and recognizing the courage and sacrifice of first responders, both then and today.

The USC Upstate Gospel Choir will perform "America the Beautiful" before hearing from our keynote speaker, Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Glenn Davis.

We invite our Spartan community and the public to join us for a time of remembrance, reflection and gratitude.
