Today is HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day (HLTSAD).

is an annual observance to honor and uplift people who have been living with HIV since before effective treatments were available.
June 5 was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the CDC's first report of a mysterious illness that would later become known as AIDS and is widely considered to be the start of the epidemic.
Forty-five years later, we honor the resilience and strength of long-term survivors. Thank you for paving the way and reminding us of what it means to persevere, live fully, and thrive with HIV.
