The most recent appropriations for the U.S. Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. U.S. Army Soldiers of the 116th Tactical Installation Networking Enhanced, 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, South Carolina Army National Guard, conducted a change of command ceremony in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Sept. 14, 2025. South Carolina National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade (TTSB) participate in the 9/11 Remembrance and First Responders Salute, a ceremony hosted by 228th TTSB in conjunction with the City of Greenville and the University of South Carolina (USC) to remember and honor the casualties of 9/11. The ceremony culminated with a moment of silence and the laying of a remembrance wreath presented by U.S. Army Maj. Jacinta W. White, representing the 228th TTSB.
