The Spartanburg County Auditor’s Office and the Spartanburg County Treasurer’s Office think a full-service DMV office should be included in the upcoming City/County Administrative Building. If you would like to show your support of including DMV in the new Administrative Building or ask questions, make sure your voice is heard. Include a Full-Service DMV at the New Spartanburg City/County Administrative Building

Spartanburg County offices will be closed Monday, January 16th in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

For all needing to pay 2022 real estate and business personal property taxes that are due. You will have until 5pm January 18th to pay without a penalty.

A 3% penalty will be added on January 19th. Good through February 1st. February 2nd an additional 7% penalty will be added making a total 10% penalty good through March 16th. On March 17th the 2022 real estate and business personal property will increase an additional 5% total 15% penalty plus additional cost will be added and collected in the Tax Collectors Office.

Once in the Tax Collector’s Office additional cost will be added and property prepared for Tax Sale. Please contact the Tax Collectors Office after March 16th for more information at 864-596-2597.

If you or your spouse became 65 years of age during 2020, you may qualify for homestead exemption. You can apply on my website at spartanburgcounty.org, under departments, select “auditor”. Follow the prompts. When the application is complete, simply hit submit and it comes to my office. You can even upload your documents by simply clicking the upload button.
Our office has been sanitized and we wipe everything including pens, counters, equipment and hands with sanitizer several times each day. We are scheduled to be sanitized again in January. Face coverings are not required for this building, but are recommended. No one in my office has Covid and we are trying to keep it that way.
Many of our forms are on line and can be completed and submitted to us without coming to the building if you prefer.

Monday, March 18th is the last day to pay your 2018 real and personal property taxes before they are sent to the Tax Collector's office...at that time a 15% penalty will be added to the base tax amount...and additional cost will be added in the coming months to prepare the property for tax sale if the taxes are not paid..you have until 5pm Monday to pay at the current amount due at the 10% penalty amount.Post mark is accepted as well.
