Spartanburg County School District 3 District Three is comprised of 3 elementary, 1 middle, & 1 high school, & a shared technology center. They serve four-year terms on a staggered basis.

Spartanburg County School District Three, located in the eastern part of Spartanburg County, is approximately three-and-a-half miles wide and 14 miles long. The district includes an area of 71 square miles with seven schools. The district is governed by a citizen Board of Trustees consisting of nine members elected at large. The superintendent is appointed by the board.

Students at Pacolet Elementary School celebrated International Dot Day today, which recognizes creativity and encourages students to make their mark.

International Dot Day is based on the book The Dot, which follows a student who thinks she can’t draw. Her teacher encourages her to make her mark, beginning with a single dot. Her teacher's encouragement inspires her creativity and eventually helps her encourage someone else.

To help celebrate, students dressed in dot-themed clothing and enjoyed Dippin' Dots!

Congratulations to Dr. Stacy Fuentes, who was selected to attend the Fall 2026 STAR Teacher Seminar Cohort! 👏

Dr. Fuentes is one of only eight teachers in South Carolina selected for this program, which recognizes and rewards outstanding veteran teachers. Dr. Fuentes teaches Science at Gettys D. Broome High School. The seminar is sponsored by Palmetto State Teachers Association and the Foundation for Professional Development. Way to go, Dr. Fuentes!

Spartanburg School District Three once again has the opportunity to participate in the “Christmas Shoes” project!

This project provides shoes for students in our district. If you are interested and your child/children are in need of new shoes, please contact your child’s school to complete a form. You can include information on any other children in your home.

All forms must be completed by Friday, October 2nd. Shoes will be delivered to school before the Christmas Holiday.

Please make sure you have the correct sizes and if the shoes are infant, toddler, youth or adult size. For small children or students in elementary and middle school, please go up half a size.

Our Grounds team was out at Pacolet Elementary School this morning collecting trash and debris left behind by weekend storms. Students in Mrs. Taylor's 3rd grade class saw the team working and asked if they could help. They grabbed trash cans and joined the cleanup effort!

"(That) literally made my day," said Grounds Manager Robby Quinn. "I'm ready to move mountains now."
