🎅🏃 What a great morning for our 8th Annual Run for a Claus!

We want to thank everyone who came out and made this year’s event such a success. From our runners and walkers to our sponsors, volunteers, staff, and community partners—this event would not be possible without you.

Every dollar raised through Run for a Claus goes directly toward our Christmas Outreach Program, helping us provide Christmas gifts to children right here in Alleghany County.

Seeing our community come together year after year to support our kids is what makes this event so special. We are extremely grateful for everyone who participated, donated, sponsored, volunteered, or simply helped spread the word.

🚨 IMPORTANT RUN FOR A CLAUS UPDATE! 🎅🏃

Due to construction, we have changed the starting location for the Fun Run.

Both the 5K and Fun Run will now start at Veterans Memorial Park at 8:00 AM on September 12.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT | LT. JC RIFE 🌟

The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office is proud to kick off our new Employee Spotlight series by recognizing Lieutenant JC Rife!

Lt. Rife has dedicated 19½ years of service to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office. In his current role, JC oversees civil process, transports, and evidence, all of which are important parts of the day-to-day operations of our office.

When asked what he enjoys most about his career, JC’s answer was simple: helping people. That commitment to serving others is what law enforcement is all about and has been a constant throughout his nearly two decades of service to Alleghany County.

When he’s not at the Sheriff’s Office, JC enjoys spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing.

We appreciate Lt. Rife for his many years of dedicated service, his experience, and everything he continues to do for our office and the citizens of Alleghany County.
