We had a great turnout for our first Community Walk Audit! More than 40 people came out to walk with us, share their input, and help identify areas where improvements are needed throughout our community.

This is just the first of many steps as we work together to make our community safer, stronger, and better for everyone. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their voice. We appreciate your commitment to helping move our community forward!

PUBLIC NOTICE: SANITARY SEWER SPILL

On August 28, a sanitary sewer spill occurred at the Gordon Street Lift Station due to aging infastructure. An estimated 1,000 gallons of wastewater was discharged onto dry land. No state waters were reached or impacted.

City staff responded promptly and repaired the cracked line. City engineers have been updated as to the situation and have added a full line replacement to the planned improvements.

PUBLIC NOTICE: SANITARY SEWER SPILL

On August 26, a sanitary sewer spill occurred at the Hancock Street Lift Station after heavy rainfall in a short period overwhelmed the sewer line. An estimated 11,250 gallons of wastewater was discharged onto dry land. No state waters were reached or impacted.

City staff responded promptly, removed the wastewater, and applied lime to treat and sanitize the affected area.

The City is actively working with engineers to plan system upgrades that will reduce I&I and improve sewer capacity and reliability during heavy rainfall.
