This week's Monday Member Spotlight is Cottage Realty LLC!

My name is Clem Satterfield, and I am excited to become a member of the Alleghany County Chamber of Commerce and part of this wonderful community.

After many years living and working in North Carolina, my wife Carolyn and I recently made the move to the Roaring Gap area, and we are thrilled to call Alleghany County home. We were drawn to the area's natural beauty, friendly people, strong sense of community, and exceptional quality of life. From the scenic mountain views and outdoor recreation to the rich local heritage and thriving small businesses, Alleghany County truly offers something special.

Professionally, I am the owner and Realtor of Cottage Realty, a real estate company I founded in 2002. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of families buy and sell homes across North Carolina. I am passionate about connecting people with communities they love and helping them achieve their real estate goals.

As a Chamber member, I look forward to building relationships, supporting local businesses, promoting economic growth, and contributing to the continued success of Alleghany County. I believe great communities are built through collaboration, service, and a shared commitment to making a positive difference.

Carolyn and I are grateful for the warm welcome we have received and look forward to becoming actively involved in the community for many years to come.

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. I am excited about the future and proud to be a part of Alleghany County.

Sorry, we didn't mean to blow up your feed today, but so much is happening! We have some more good news...

THE SHIRTS ARE HERE!

Show a little Blue Ridge Mountain Heritage Festival pride and help support one of Alleghany County’s favorite traditions!

Official shirts for the 31st Annual Blue Ridge Mountain Heritage Festival are now available for just $20, with all proceeds going directly to support the festival.

Choose from:
• Deep red short-sleeve
• Steel-blue long-sleeve
• Sizes Small through XXL

Pick yours up now at the Alleghany/Sparta Visitor Center, 58 S. Main Street in downtown Sparta, or grab one at the festival on Saturday, September 19.

Shirts are available while supplies last, so if you’ve got your eye on a particular color and size, you may want to stop by before festival day!

Then wear it proudly when you join us September 19 in downtown Sparta for a full day celebrating the music, craftsmanship, heritage, and mountain traditions that make our corner of the Blue Ridge so special. Did we mention they are sooooooo soft and comfortable?!

$20 each | All proceeds support the festival

Very glad to see this. So many businesses fail following a disaster - let's support our fire-impacted businesses whenever possible folks. Thankful to be in a tight community where we don't have to be just another statistic!

FYI: FEMA's records show that roughly 40% to 60% of small businesses never reopen following a disaster.

🔥 We’re Still Open for Business! 🔥

At Keller Williams Realty Elite – Blue Ridge, our sales have been on fire…and, unfortunately, our office has now literally been on fire. 😳

But the good news is the phone is still working! Give us a call at 336-372-4774. It forwards directly to my cell, so if I answer with a casual “Hello” instead of “Keller Williams Realty Elite – Blue Ridge,” you’ll know why. 😂

For now, we’ve set up temporary shop at 153 North Main Street in Sparta, in the house next to the Sparta Exxon. Come see us or give us a call. We are fully operational and ready to help, and we’ll continue posting updates as we figure out what comes next.

Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful for our local firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, and everyone who stepped up to help. Please support them—and the various fundraisers helping our neighbors who have also been displaced.

And now more than ever, support your local businesses. Our little community takes care of each other, and that’s one of the things that makes Sparta such a special place.

With warmest regards,

Jay Woodruff & the entire team at Keller Williams Realty Elite – Blue Ridge ❤️
