Today we continue our mural series with Les Tubb, the owner of Sparta WoodWorks (formerly Sparta Spoke Factory).

Did you know that the land currently occupied by our Library is the former site of the Sparta Spoke Factory, and that for this reason it is the subject of the first two panels of the new library mural?

Les is here to tell us all about how his family started the business way back in 1896. Thank you for sharing, Les!

Mark your calendars—it is that time again! The Friends of the Library Used Book Sale is scheduled for: Thursday, October 1, 8 a.m.—5 p.m., Friday, October 2, 8 a.m.—5 p.m., and Saturday, October 3, 8 a.m.—Noon

If you have some old books taking up space in your home, we would be happy to take them off your hands. After you’ve made some extra room, come see us at the annual Fall Book Sale and restock with some new-to-you books! If you would like to volunteer to help set up, work, or tear down the sale, we would love to have you! Call the Library at 931-836-3613.

Please enjoy the Children's section's new dollhouse! This dollhouse was donated by the family of Pinkie Hill, one of our favorite ladies ever! It made its debut at the 20th anniversary party, and we were so glad the family was there to help us unveil it. Our summer interns spent several hours refreshing the dollhouse and getting it ready for the next generation to enjoy, so many thanks to them as well!

Today we continue our Library mural series with a feature on local White County pottery.

We are excited to welcome George Elrod, whose family was among the first in White County to create this special type of pottery.
