Next week, on Tuesday, the Sparta Fire Department, with assistance from Alpine Firefighters Association and Kent City Fire Department, will be at the High School assisting with the distracted driving event.

Please do not be alarmed if you see a heavy presence of police, fire, and EMS equipment and staff at the school during the morning hours. Our goal is to bring awareness to the students on the reality and the consequences that can occur when driving distracted.

Tomorrow night at the Shop Sparta Event, the Sparta Fire Department has joined up with North Kent Connect to fill a port-a-tank with non-perishable food items and toys.

All of the donated items will be distributed throughout the Sparta and northern Kent County area.

Sparta Fire stood tall today in honor of the fallen. Two of our firefighters represented us in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, carrying the weight of 343 heroes with each step.
