Congratulations to the winning candidates: Josh Greene, Milly Richardson, and Turk Evans on their election to the Town Council. I wish you all the very best in the year ahead as each of you strives to address the many opportunities, challenges and changes confronting our wonderful town.

Why Barbara Halsey for Town Council?

"Since opening my business (Ofelia's) on Main Street, 10 years ago, Barbara has been a constant figure in town activities and promotional events. I was told by everyone in town, "You'll never make it on Main Street, — businesses come and go with the wind." I remember, Barbara coming to the store and telling me, "Hang in there, things will be better."

Barbara had faith in me and in our town and promoted my business while owning Harmony Hill B&B, which brings me to another point. It was there (at Harmony Hill B&B) that Barbara established the foundational roots for the successful launch of "Music on Main". Barbara was able to bring live music back to town that had a rich music history loaded with untapped musicians. While she was part of SRC; amongst others like Karen Leys, Barbara Lucier, and J***y Witlow, - the town had more activities, the town had another vibe, — Sparta had its charm. Barbara Halsey is exactly what this town needs. I miss those old days.

I hope this testimony helps in the election of our dear Barbara to help bring back the mountain charm to our beautiful Sparta."
