Today, members of the Sparta Police Department were honored to stand alongside our City and County administrators, first responders as well as members of the American Legion Post #99, in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2011.

On this solemn day, we remember the innocent victims, the brave first responders, and the countless families whose lives were forever changed. We honor the firefighters, police officers, emergency personnel, and everyday heroes who answered the call without hesitation and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to carry the memory of those we lost in our hearts. To the families who continue to live with the pain and loss of that tragic day, please know that your loved ones will never be forgotten.

Today, we stood together as one community and one nation—remembering, honoring, and promising to never forget.

🍦 A SWEET ACT OF KINDNESS 🍦

While taking a break from the heat today, we stopped by a convenience store to cool off and met the sweetest lady, Shannon Langley. She kindly insisted on buying us ice cream, a simple gesture that truly made our day! 🍦❤️

THANK YOU, SPARTA-WHITE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE!

A huge thank you to the Sparta-White County Chamber of Commerce for feeding our officers who are working the fair tonight!

Our officers greatly appreciate the food and, even more, the thoughtfulness and support shown to them. It means a lot to know that our community is thinking about and supporting the men and women working to keep everyone safe during the fair.

We know shutting down one westbound lane of W. Bockman / Church St. for about 30 minutes was a little inconvenient, but it was absolutely worth it! 🇺🇸

The community came together to honor Tommy Narramore and celebrate the beautiful mural he painted, which adds so much character and beauty to our City of Sparta.

🚦 FAIR WEEK TRAFFIC NOTICE 🚦

The Sparta Police Department is asking everyone to use EXTRA CAUTION along N. Spring Street, from the Sparta Fire Department to the Radio Station, during Fair Week (8/2 through 9/5) due to an increase in both vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

Officers will be stationed across from Alcorn’s Market to assist pedestrians safely crossing the roadway.

Please slow down, stay alert, watch for pedestrians, and follow the directions of officers assisting with traffic.

Again, please use EXTRA CAUTION during these times and help us keep everyone safe during Fair Week!

🚦 FINDLAY SCHOOL TRAFFIC – FAIR WEEK 🚦

During Fair Week, the Sparta Police Department and Sparta Fire Department will be assisting with traffic flow at the Golden Mountain Road gates near Findlay School.

Morning Drop-Off: 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM
Afternoon Pick-Up: 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Our goal is to help alleviate traffic congestion and keep students, parents, and staff moving safely and efficiently during the busy week.

Please use extra caution, follow the directions of emergency personnel, and allow a little extra time for your commute.
