Congratulations to May's Staff Member of the Month, Ms. Cana! 🤩🥳

Ms. Cana greets every person she sees with a smile and brings such a positive presence to every situation. She is kind, thoughtful, and helpful and is always willing to go out of her way to lend a helping hand. She has a positive impact on the students that she works with most, but still finds a way to interact with and assist other students that need it. Ms. Cana's positivity is so contagious and she brightens up each classroom that she walks into. The new MSA program wouldn't be what it is without her. One of her students said, "Ms. Cana is like sunshine, always making my day better." ☀️

The way teens obtain working papers in New Jersey will be changing on June 1, 2023!

Thanks to a new law, the working papers process will be online and streamlined. Rather than going through local schools, younger workers will simply visit this site and be walked through a few easy steps.

***ONE WEEK LEFT TO GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!!!***

The Sussex County Miners baseball team and the Sussex County Education Association are sponsoring a student essay contest open to all Sussex County public school students. ⚾️📚

The topic of the contest is "My Hero Works at School". 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Students are encouraged to write a short, but thoughtful essay about a public school employee who has positively impacted them.

**Essays should be no more than 250 words.**

There will be one winner per grade category. Each winning student, the school employee he or she writes about, and a total of four of their family members will be guests of SCEA and the Miners home game on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
Each winning student and the school employee he or she writes about, will participate in pregame ceremonies and receive commemorative certificates. (Participants should be available to attend the game - no substitute dates are available.)

Entries must include the form above and be affixed to the essay.
