Good morning, weather peeps. We actually have some rain and storm chances in the forecast today. So some of us will enjoy some relief from this stretch of dry days, while the rest of us will add another dry day to the tally. A frontal boundary will push southward into Middle Tennessee during the afternoon and stall out. This will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly along and north of I-40. There is a low chance for gusty winds with any stronger storms, along with heavy rainfall. (You know how this works by now.) As for when we can expect our first blast of autumn weather, well, we've got the spyglasses out and we're searching long and hard, but there's no autumn weather on the horizon just yet. So we will have to wait a while longer.

A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee from Wednesday morning through Friday night. Dangerous heat indices up to 109 degrees are expected. Take precautions to protect yourself from the heat if you work or have any plans outside!

A weak cold front will bring a low chance for thunderstorms this afternoon into the evening. Storm coverage is expected to be isolated but any thunderstorms that do develop will be capable of gusty winds and hail.

White Co is under a marginal risk for severe storms over night... strong to damaging straight line winds and heavy rainfall is the main concern if we do get anything.

Not everybody will see rain or storms late this afternoon, but where they occur, damaging wind gusts will be possible along with heavy downpours and frequent lightning.

A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather.

The Storm prediction center in Norman Oklahoma has issued a discussion for portions of our area , a 60% chance of a watch being issued. Will update as needed

The extreme southeast part of white county is under a level two today while the rest of the county is in level one for strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

Good morning, weather peeps, and how is everyone on this mirthful Monday? We are gradually trending toward cooler weather, but it's happening in baby steps. There is still a Heat Advisory in effect for today, but, hey, it's an improvement. Using a Space Balls analogy, we're decelerating from ludicrous heat down to ridiculous heat. (Again, baby steps.) There are also rain and storm chances this afternoon, mainly in areas east of I-65. And there is a low risk (level 1 or 2 out of 5) of severe storms, mainly between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., primarily along and near the Cumberland Plateau, with strong to damaging winds being the primary threat. Tomorrow, we'll be free from any heat-related advisories as we decelerate once again from ridiculous heat down to just light heat (to quote Lord Dark Helmet).
