🚒 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – JOIN THE SPARKS IGNITE TEAM 🚒

The City of Sparks Fire Department is seeking dedicated community members to become part of the IGNITE Community Engagement Team — a volunteer auxiliary group focused on outreach, events, education, and supporting our firefighters and community initiatives.

The SPARKS IGNITE Team helps strengthen the connection between the department and the community through:

Community events

Public safety education

Fundraising and outreach

Emergency support efforts

Youth and family engagement

Volunteer service projects

ETC.

We are looking for motivated individuals who want to make a positive impact, serve their community, and support the mission of the fire department.

No firefighting experience is required — just a passion for community service and teamwork.

Yesterday evening, we conducted driver training, which included driving and backing the trucks, as well as operating the pump. We also took this opportunity to take photographs of our firefighters to introduce them to the community. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to be present, but we would like to introduce you to those who participated.

The best time to prepare for hurricanes is BEFORE hurricane season begins. The eastern Pacific hurricane season runs from May 15 to November 30.

Prepare NOW so you avoid having to rush through potentially life-saving preparations. Take time to stock up on disaster supplies and look into flood insurance, which requires a 30-day waiting period.

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone across all the different locations who have come together and made generous donations to support the fire, police, sheriff’s departments, and all other personnel working tirelessly to bring these disasters under control.

We are grateful for the opportunity to assist neighboring communities in these ongoing efforts, helping to contain the fires and provide a greater sense of safety and security for those affected.

⚠️ 🔥 URGENT 🔥 ⚠️

Good afternoon, due to the severe drought in South Georgia the City Of Sparks is still operating under the NO BURN ordinance that is still currently in place. The City of Sparks Fire Department has suspended burn permits until further notice. Please note that to burn any yard debris in the City of Sparks you must obtain a burn permit. Burning without a permit is illegal in the City and punishable by fines. We urge everyone within the city to not burn anything outside until further notice. Please be very attentive to grilling outside also. If you notice any outside fires, please call 911.
