We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of a dear friend, Joe Everett. He brought joy to all around him through kindness & sincerity - and had a desire to share his zest for life & learing and a love of heritage far and wide - especially his own. He was always happy when the time came to coordinate 'Save the Date for Iceland Day' - to be sure we were also scheduled and that our Icelandic cabin & the pioneer park would be open for visitors celebrating their heritage on that special day. Thank you Joe... We'll miss & celebrate you too this year - till we meet again.

The park will be open Saturday September 12th from 10am till 1pm during Iceland Day.

Pioneer Day is our favorite day of the year at the Jones-Hughes Pioneer Heritage Park in Spanish Fork, Utah - thank you for the sharing beautiful quilts, your amazing talents, kind community friendship and a sense of meaningful heritage - past and yet to come.

Diamond Fork Middle School field trips are something we look forward to all year long. This time we loved having two of our own Jones-Hughes 7th graders join in & learn from the amazingly respectful, kind and fun Diamond Fork students and of course, from some of the best Utah History teachers ever!

Favorite Diamond Fork 7th grader comments of the day:

"Yep, this is my favorite thing." (Overlooking all the 'things' in the big display barn)

"I'm a Jones. Thats my last name."

"We found arrowheads!"
(The students knew there were some to be found if they really paid attention by the Navajo Hogan.
