Auditor Diana DiZoglio & I are a YES on Question #1!

More transparency in Government.

Great discussion with our business community at the Greater Westfield Chamber’s Legislative Luncheon.

Mayor Mike McCabe and Southwick’s Town Administrator Nicole Parker provided updates on their respective communities.

Thank you to the Chamber for hosting and to The Ranch Golf Club for the outstanding event space and food as always.

My friend and colleague, State Auditor Diana DiZoglio, delivered the keynote and knocked it out of the park!

🚨 ROLL CALL: The Massachusetts House just voted down an amendment to suspend the 24-cent gas tax for 60 days.

The vote: 30 YES, 121 NO.

In a recent poll, nearly 7 in 10 Massachusetts residents support temporary gas tax relief, but House leaders said no.

Remember this roll call. Taxpayers asked for relief. Beacon Hill chose to keep collecting. ⛽

🚨 ROLL CALL: The Massachusetts House just voted 126-25 to keep a transfer of up to $70 MILLION for the Massachusetts Offshore Wind Industry Investment Trust Fund.

Amendment #183 would have eliminated the transfer.

The federal government has moved to buy back offshore wind leases, and Massachusetts is fighting those efforts while continuing to put more taxpayer money behind expensive, intermittent offshore wind.

On the same day House leaders rejected even temporary gas tax relief, they voted overwhelmingly to keep spending on offshore wind.

How much more good money are taxpayers expected to throw after bad? 🌊💸

At the State House, the Republican caucus is working every day to make Massachusetts more affordable.

We just put forward another amendment to suspend the gas tax—mirroring the exact language the governor filed.

It was defeated mostly along party lines.

We’ll keep fighting day in and day out to deliver real relief for working families.

Always a great time at the Chamber’s luncheon hearing from our business community!

Thank you to the Chamber for organizing the event, and to Lattitude’s for hosting — the food was spectacular.

Thank you to my colleagues in Agawam government for attending. It’s always good to see you.

A big thanks to my friend and colleague Rep. Mike Finn. We’ve been on the road with this show for a while… I’m not giving up on you! 😉
