🇺🇸 🐾 Rayla Honeycutt and Ava Frachiseur are representing Southside High School this summer as our American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Representative’s at The Univeristy of Alabama. ALA Girls State American Legion Auxiliary units in all 50 states proudly host ALA Girls State, an amazing week of learning focused on responsible citizenship, leadership, and love for our country.

This prestigious program teaches parliamentary procedure and gives participants the opportunity to form mock political parties, campaign, hold rallies, debate, and elect city, county, and state officials.

We are so proud of our SHS students and love to see where their education takes them!!! 🐾🇺🇸

Leah French represented Southside High School as an ambassador for the HOBY Leadership Conference held at Troy University, where she formed lasting connections, contributed to community service, and learned leadership and teamwork skills that will last her for years to come. Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave all for our country and our freedom. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also pause to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

From all of us at Southside High School, thank you to our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward each day. 🇺🇸

Update from Atlanta: Our SHS team won 4 matches today, but what made us even prouder was hearing other coaches and parents compliment our students for being well-behaved, respectful, and kind. They represented our school and community in the very best way!

A special shoutout to Russ McGlaughn, who finished ranked #34 out of 1,590 individual players from 320 teams which is an incredible accomplishment!

We are so proud of the effort, character, and sportsmanship shown by our students this weekend. Way to represent Southside! 🖤💛
