Southport Fire Department The Southport Fire Department is a combination volunteer/career organization dedicated to the broadest level of service possible for our community. FF’s, 5 Jr.

The Southport Fire Department provides superior service to the people of the Southport Fire District in an effort to protect their lives, property and environment. The members of the department will accomplish this through fire suppression, fire prevention, public education, emergency response and non-emergency response. Our department is a combination department comprised of 9 paid staffers, 50 V

ol. FF’s and 40 EMS Volunteers. We also have a variety of active retirees and honorary members. We operate out of 4 stations. We have a very active fire prevention program and a clown troop of eight firefighters. Our department is dedicated to the broadest level of service possible for our community.

Which is safer during a house fire—door open or closed?
Fire safety research shows that a closed door can slow the spread of fire, heat, and toxic smoke, helping keep conditions inside a room survivable longer than with the door open.
That’s why a simple habit matters:
🚪 Close before you doze.
🚨 Have working smoke alarms inside and outside sleeping areas.
🗺️ Have and practice a home fire escape plan.
🏃 If there’s a fire, get out and stay out.
🚪 Close doors behind you as you escape, when possible.
A closed door doesn’t replace escaping—it can BUY precious time.
Close the door. Hear the alarm. Get out safely. 🔥🚒

This is an impressive display and ceremony. If you have never been, please make plans to attend this year for the 25th Anniversary. We will never forget.
