April is right around the corner! Here is a line up of upcoming programs this week.

TAB will meet Wednesday and Anime Club will meet Thursday. Signs up for our Upcycled Hoodie Sewing Workshop have opened. Spaces are limited so register ASAP.

Also, please note that Crochet Club will only meet Tuesday, April 7th for the month of April. The remaining Tuesdays of the month have other exciting programs planned!

THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE: 3/16/26-3/20/26

Hello! This week we will have our Tuesday Crochet Club meeting from 4PM-5PM. Want to learn crochet but can't make the meeting? On Wednesday, we have our monthly Chillers and Thrillers Book Club. This book club is great for anyone who is a fan of books like The Good Girl's Guide to Murder and One of Us is Lying.

Thursday we have our AI for Content Creator program. Using a variety of platforms, students will learn how creators plan content, write captions, design graphics, and experiment with AI-powered video and voice tools.

No prior AI experience required. Just curiosity and creativity. Students are encouraged to bring a device to work along as we go.

Please remember to REGISTER for all programs. Cancellations happen and I'd like everyone to stay up to date with any changes.

Hello! This week we will have our Tuesday Crochet Club meeting from 4PM-5PM. Want to learn crochet but can't make the meeting? On Thursday, we have our first Teen Gaming night! Using the Teen Room Nintendo Switch, we will be playing multiplayer and coop games in the Teen Room. Want to hang but don't want to participate? Bring your own device! Alternatively, teens can come and play board games as well. Hope to see you there!

Good morning. Due to inclement weather, both programs for this afternoon are CANCELED. Furry Scaly Friends will be rescheduled for a future date and Crochet Club will meet for its regular meeting next Tuesday. If you know of someone who was planning on attending but did not officially register, please let them know.

High school seniors! Please note that the Main Street Community Foundation is offering scholarships to Southington students. Use this link for more information:

The deadline is coming up on March 6th, 2026!

In addition, the American Savings Foundation is offering a scholarship to high school students in CT. The deadline to apply is March 31st, 2026. Please visit the website for more details.

Lastly, Prom Angels CT is hosting their Prom Dress Boutique in April. This event helps in need teens get everything they need to have a magical prom. The event is appointment only. See the picture for more details and visit their website.

THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE 3/2/26-3/6/26:

We have a jam packed week planned for our teens! For this month's half day, we start off with our usual crochet club meeting. Been meaning to try it out? Come join us!

Following crochet we are welcoming back Furry Scaly Friends! Teens come come mingle and cuddle with live animals and ask any questions they have about the variety of critters that will be present...including a mini pig!!

This week will have our monthly TAB meeting as well. Teens who attend Teen Advisory Board meetings are eligible for volunteer hours.

Lastly we will have our first Anime club meeting. For our first monthly meeting, we will have an artist come show us how to draw in manga style!

Registration is now open for our Furry Scaly Friends Half-Day Hangout!

Teens 12-18 are welcome to register and come meet and hang out with all different kinds of animals. Teens will be able to actually handle the animals! How else would you want to celebrate a half day from school?

The time is finally here!! Here are your Spooky Southington Vol. 3 winners!!

I'd like to offer a sincere apology on the delay. Usually I have one more staff member helping me to edit and they are no longer here in Southington. In addition, I took on editing this volume as well as our first Best of CT Spooky Stories volume.

Both will be ready for check out sometime next week and can be found, along with the other volumes of Spooky Southington, in our local author section found on the second floor of the library.
