We had such a wonderful time at Pop Up in the Pines! We loved sharing a little of what you can find at our Resale Campus, but the best part was connecting with members of the community who were learning about The Coalition and our mission for the first time.

Every conversation was an opportunity to share how we’re working to alleviate hunger and ease financial strain for our neighbors throughout Moore County. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shopped with purpose, asked questions, and helped us spread the word about the care happening close to home. ❤

We’re bringing a specially curated collection of clothing and treasures from across the Coalition Resale Campus to the Weymouth Center—and we’re excited to introduce more of our community to the impact behind our shops.

When you shop, donate, or volunteer with Coalition Resale, you help support programs serving Moore County neighbors facing hunger and financial hardship. A great secondhand find can do much more than refresh your closet or home—it can help provide care close to home.

Amanda Tutt, Director of Strategic Development, on behalf of the Sandhills Coalition, accepted a grant check for $3,000 from the Central Electric Member Care Trust. The grant funds are powered by voluntary donations from Central Electric members and will be used to provide assistance to survivors of domestic violence.

We are grateful to Meg Moss and Central Electric’s members for helping the Coalition provide care and support when our neighbors need it most.

🎄 Coalition Christmas Sponsor Enrollment Is Open! 🎄

Each year, generous members of our community help make Christmas brighter for local children and seniors through A Coalition Christmas.

Individuals, families, businesses, churches, civic groups, and other organizations are invited to participate. Sponsors may choose how many people they would like to support and whether they prefer to sponsor children, seniors, or either.

Sponsor enrollment is open September 1–30. Matches will be provided in early November after recipient applications are complete. Sponsors should plan to spend up to $75 per person and will coordinate gift pickup or delivery directly with their matched recipient or household.

September is National Preparedness Month, and we’re helping Moore County seniors prepare for the unexpected.

With support from AARP Livable Communities , the Sandhills Coalition is assembling and distributing 600 emergency preparedness kits for seniors in our community. Each kit includes an emergency flashlight, extra batteries, an emergency blanket, a whistle, a cooling towel, and an easy-to-follow preparedness guide with information about hurricanes, extreme heat, power outages, and important local phone numbers.

Distribution will begin with participants in our Senior Food Box Program. Once those seniors have received their kits, we’ll reassess our remaining inventory and share information about any opportunities to expand distribution to other eligible seniors.

Emergencies can be especially challenging for older adults. These kits are one more way we can help our neighbors feel safer, more informed, and better prepared—before, during, and after an emergency.

Our Director of Operations, Cody, shared how the Coalition serves our neighbors throughout Moore County and helped students learn about the many ways they can connect with our work. Students can turn to the Coalition when they need assistance, volunteer their time, or support our mission simply by donating or shopping at The Coalition Resale Shops
