The Moore County DSS, Health Dept., and American Red Cross are opening an emergency public shelter at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Moore County Sports Complex, 155 Hillcrest Park Lane in Carthage. Moore County residents can keep up with current events happening with Moore County Public Safety by following them on FaceBook at www.facebook.com/moorecountyps or www.moorecountync.gov
Additionally, the United Way office expects to be closed Monday, February 2, 2026 due to the forecast of inclement weather/travel restrictions. If you need help or other information, dial 211 for health and human services assistance. Stay warm. Stay safe.
