We are so grateful to volunteers groups like the conservation-minded staff at the Hartford office of ERM Global for sharing their time, energy, and dedication to good works with us! 9 staff and family members made the trek from Hartford to Southbury last week to pull invasive plants! 18 volunteer hours were logged and a whole lotta big bags of garlic mustard pulled! We appreciate you!

Let’s just say it’s looking and sounding verrrrry birdy here at the Bent! Last night, according to Cornell’s BirdCast, over 850 MILLION birds were on the move across the US! We are in prime spring migration as many birds are traveling from their non-breeding territories in Central and South America to their breeding grounds in New England and Canada. You can help keep birds safe as they migrate by turning off your lights between 11:00pm and 6:00am, treating your windows to avoid collisions, and by planting native plants and avoiding pesticides!
