Please do not chase or try and get . Call with any sightings.

UPDATE from Southbury ACO and CTDGRV. Please if you see this dog do not call out or try to get her. She is scared and in Survival Mode/ Flight Mode which she will sprint from everything in total fear. This can push her out of a known area and put her into danger and where we need to find her again. We need for the area to be kept quiet so we can set up a trap. PLEASE EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP CHASING AND TRYING TO GET HER TO COME TO YOU. THIS WILL NOT WORK. Call the numbers below with the exact location, direction of travel and her behavior. This will be very helpful.

Missing in Southbury. She is a very skittish girl and will run out of fear from anyone who calls out to her, follows her, or chases her. For the safety of the dog we ask everyone to call the number on the flyer with the exact sighting with street number, closest cross street, or landmark so we can get out to the area quickly. Also provide direction of travel. Do not post the sighting, call so we can provide the most immediate response and keep the area quiet in order to set up for capture. Please check your cameras and under decks and other hiding places if you live near this area. Please share.

After a stressful few days, Sid was spotted this morning by some alert construction workers hiding behind an AC unit in Heritage Village. They called his mom who brought out her other pup and literally lifted the chihuahua over the side of the AC unit. Sid spotted Marney and came running out to his mom. Thank you to the alert construction team, CTDGR Tina for getting out there so quickly with trail cams and to CTDGR Deb for coaching Sid’s momma. Welcome back Sid!!! You were missed!

Update: my special little girl has found her forever home ❤️

Up for adoption: This little girl has had a tough start, but is looking for someone that will love her.
We got her at 6-7 weeks old and she had a really bad upper respiratory infection. After weeks of different medications we finally saw improvement. Unfortunately her left eye was already too damaged to fix and her globe ended up rupturing . She was scheduled to be spayed and have her eye removed this past Monday but during the exam the doctor felt that we didn’t need to remove the eye . Why possible damage the other eye . There is and was no active infection and no real reason to remove it . she just can’t see out of it and never will .
So the doctor spayed her and she is recovering here at the shelter .
This girl holds a special place in my heart she is the sweetest most cuddly girl and just wants to be pet and held .
She is approximately 4 months old spayed and current on all vaccinations. She is looking for her forever home .
If interested please fill out an application or call us at 203-262-0613
