Mental Health Awareness Month may be over, but SYFS is here to offer resources and support year-round! Last Thursday, our department’s Director Sarah and Program Coordinator Emily had the opportunity to meet with the graduating class at Algonquin Regional High School and present information on mental health and digital technology. Both are rapidly changing fields where misinformation is easily spread. Utilizing accredited resources, we strive to offer the most current information for practical application. A big thank you to Principal Bevan for inviting us and a HUGE congratulations to the graduating class of 2026!

Happy Pride Month!
During the month of June, we reflect on the strength, resilience, and inclusivity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride Month, for everyone, encourages authenticity, acceptance, and compassion for oneself and others. Local and national mental health resources are listed for adolescent, adult, and senior members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Community Wellness event last night! It was a wonderful chance to celebrate Mental Health Awareness month and present the Laurie Sugarman-Whittier Wellness Award, a recognition for those who demonstrate exemplary compassion and care for wellbeing and community. This year’s Mental Health Awareness Month theme, “Grow Where You Are Planted,” speaks to resilience, hope, and the ability to flourish even through challenges and uncertainty.
It was our privilege to recognize eight incredible honorees who, in their own unique ways, have helped Southborough grow stronger, kinder, healthier, and more connected.

Looking for something to do during this rainy Memorial Day weekend?

Join us for a relaxed community art night this Friday, May 22, from 6–8 PM at the Southborough Senior Center!

Participants will create simple nature-inspired art pieces and contribute to a collaborative community art installation that will be displayed in a future Southborough Youth and Family Services space. No art experience needed.

Open to ages 5+
Children under 16 must attend with an adult
Free and open to the public

Creative teens are welcome and volunteer hours are available for students.
