Thank you to everyone who came to our Community Wellness event last night! It was a wonderful chance to celebrate Mental Health Awareness month and present the Laurie Sugarman-Whittier Wellness Award, a recognition for those who demonstrate exemplary compassion and care for wellbeing and community. This year’s Mental Health Awareness Month theme, “Grow Where You Are Planted,” speaks to resilience, hope, and the ability to flourish even through challenges and uncertainty.
It was our privilege to recognize eight incredible honorees who, in their own unique ways, have helped Southborough grow stronger, kinder, healthier, and more connected.
Andy Gleckel, Southborough Fire Department
Marianna Sorensen, Youth Services Librarian
Karen Anglim, Community Volunteer
Taylor West, Health Director
Trish Frutman, Mary Finn School Nurse
Lana Dugdale, Community Volunteer
Pat Draper, Community Volunteer
Marge Coldwell, Community Volunteer
We appreciate the opportunity to celebrate this year’s honorees for their admirable work, as well as all the friends, family, and community members who attended in support of wellness and mental health. We look forward to continuing to honor the legacy of our former Director, Laurie Sugarman-Whittier and recognizing the people who embody her passion for serving our community.
