What happens when we stop looking away?

And we let those experiencing abuse know that they don’t have to face it alone.

Know the Signs

Awareness can save lives.

Domestic violence isn’t always visible. Knowing the warning signs can help us recognize when someone may need support.

🚩 Controlling who someone talks to or where they go
🚩 Isolating someone from family and friends
🚩 Constant jealousy or accusations
🚩 Threats or intimidation
🚩 Controlling money or access to resources
🚩 Humiliation, insults, or degrading behavior
🚩 Monitoring phones, social media, or whereabouts
🚩 Physical violence or threats of physical violence

If you recognize these behaviors in your own life or someone you care about, please remember: abuse is not love, and no one deserves to be controlled, threatened, or harmed.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply say:

“I believe you. You are not alone. How can I support you?”

This October, we will walk to raise awareness, honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand together against domestic violence.
