At approximately 12:00pm Southampton Fire was dispatched to a car fire on Russellville Rd.

Engine 3 responded with call personnel, crew located a pickup truck on fire on the corner of Russellville Rd and Wyben Rd. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, a small brush fire had started from this and was put out quickly before spreading further. No injuries from this incident.

The cause of the fire was found to be an electrical malfunction in the engine compartment. All units were clear at 1:19 pm.

Thank you to Southampton Police Department-Massachusetts for your assistance and Ernie's Towing for the removal of the vehicle.

A medical call came in while this was going on and our ambulance was on another call transporting to Baystate, Thank you to Westfield Fire Department for covering the second medical call in town.

*3rd call for service in past 30 min has come in for a fire alarm activation

Back to back medical calls for our crew. For the past couple weeks just about every day we have had medicals come in back to back. Sometimes multiple times a day. We thank our mutual aid partners for coming to assist when then occurs.
