FLOAT TRIPS ON THE AMERICAN RIVER

Hello all!

This season has been a bit busy for many of us. Here are a few adventures for the summer. 3 different float trips. Heather Miles will be leading these.
June 27, July 25, & Aug 8. We will meet at 8:30 am at American River Parkway - Riverbend Park, Rancho Cordova. This is a parking lot where we will leave 1/2 our vehicles because this is the ending point of the float trip, which is a 3-4-hour trip. This is peaceful and calm water.
You can use float tubes, kayaks, or paddleboards to float on.
Heather has 3 tubes to borrow; you will need to message through here to reserve one of the 3 tubes.
You will need to bring your own water, snacks, & lunch.

MAY 9 - HIKE - BOBELAINE AUDUBON SANCTUARY
(Meet at the church at 8 am. (Meet in the overflow lot near the vet hospital.) It is a drive 20 minutes down Hwy 99 and turn left at Laurel Ave (past O'Banion).Notes: Dogs are not allowed on this trail, as it is a wildlife sanctuary. Strollers aren't suitable for the walk, as the first section is on gravel and involves climbing up and down the levee. 2.5 mile family-friendly walk at the local private refuge.

APRIL 18 - BIKE RIDE & BBQ - BLACK MINERS BAR - AMERICAN RIVER BIKE TRAIL

Hello, all you adventurers!

We would like an RSVP if you plan to come out.
At this point we are changing the Bike Ride to Kayaking & Paddling because our knees are not feeling good enough for this. That being said... If you want to come out to do the 11-mile bike ride around the lake, you are welcome, but this will be on your own. We will be at Black Miners Bar early enough to get a nice spot, and we will be there. We are planning on getting there at 8 am and BBQing at 11 am.

Again, please RSVP and let us know if you plan to come.

This is a kid-friendly place, so please bring your family.

The Reeves are hosting camping at Bowman Lake on Friday, April 10 through Sunday the 12th? They will grab a group site early Friday morning for anyone who wants to join them.

There is no cost... however, to make the trip, participants would need either a four-wheel-drive and/or a high clearance vehicle. If you're interested, give Helen a call at 530-300-7242 and she can provide the rest of the details.

FYI- there is no phone signal at Collins Lake, so if you want to meet outside the gate and ride with us, let us know before we leave. This is a clip from their website regarding rentals.
