I had a great conversation with Deputy Mayor Andy Paterna about several issues that are important to South Windsor residents.

We discussed concerns raised by seniors in the Berry Patch community and the need to bring Metro Realty to the table so residents can have a direct conversation about those concerns. We also talked about road safety, DOT priorities, and the impact of South Windsor's continued growth on our schools and community.

I appreciate Andy's willingness to listen and work together on these challenges. This meeting builds on ongoing conversations with Mayor Craig Zimmerman and members of the Town Council as we continue working to make South Windsor an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Advocates Celebrate Connecticut Superior Court Decision,
Amadasun to be Sworn in Tonight

South Windsor, CT – In a landmark decision in the Amadasun v. Armstrong case (HHD-CV25-6214193-S), Judge Carl Schuman of the Connecticut Superior Court affirmed what South Windsor voters made clear at the ballot box in November 2025: the seat on the South Windsor Town Council belongs to Harrison Amadasun, whom they elected to serve.

As a result of this decision, Town Councilor-elect Harrison Amadasun will be sworn in tonight at 7pm, in South Windsor Council Chambers, prior to the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting in South Windsor Town Hall, 1540 Sullivan Ave, South Windsor.
"This was never about me; this is, was, and will always be about the voters of our community," Harrison Amadasun said. "I'm pleased the court saw it the same way, and I look forward to taking a seat on the South Windsor Town Council tonight," Amadasun concluded.

“Today's decision is a landmark victory not only for the people of South Windsor but for democracy itself. Harrison's vindication stands as a bulwark against anyone who attempts to silence the will of the voters.” Attorney John Kennelly said. “It has been my honor to fight on behalf of him and the electorate of Connecticut,” Kennelly concluded.

“This decision has been a long time coming, and today the Court affirmed what the people of South Windsor already made clear at the ballot box,” said Anitha Elango, Chair of the South Windsor Democratic Town Committee. “Democracy only works when election results are respected, and today’s ruling is a powerful affirmation that the will of the people cannot simply be rejected in an improper, arbitrary, and retroactive manner by unelected municipal officials," Elango concluded.

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate.

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate.

Today, millions around the world celebrate Eid al-Adha, commemorating Prophet Abraham’s willingness to surrender what was most precious to him in devotion to God, and the trust, courage, and faith of his beloved son.

At its heart, this story is not only about sacrifice. It is about love. The kind of love that rises above fear, ego, division, and self-interest. The kind of love that calls us to care for one another, to lift those who are struggling, to welcome the stranger, and to see the dignity of every human being.
No matter our faith, background, or beliefs, we all share the same hopes: to be loved, to belong, to find meaning, and to leave this world better than we found it.

May this day remind us that the greatest strength is compassion, the greatest wealth is kindness, and the greatest legacy is the good we leave in the hearts of others.

May our homes be filled with peace, our communities with understanding, and our world with greater mercy, justice, and love for all.
Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate, and blessings of peace and goodwill to every member of our human family.
