REMINDERS FOR LAWN CARE

DEAR NEIGHBORS,
AS WE WORK TOGETHER TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOODS SAFE AND LOOKING GREAT, PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP GRASS CLIPPINGS, WEEDS, AND YARD DEBRIS OUT OF THE STREETS AND GUTTERS. WHEN LAWN CLIPPINGS ARE BLOWN INTO THE STREET, THEY CAUSE SEVERAL SERIOUS ISSUES FOR THE SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT COMMUNITY. THE DEBRIS COVERS AND BLOCKS THE CATCH BASINS; NOT ALLOWING THE WATER TO DRAIN PROPERLY. THIS ORGANIC MATTER FORMS A LAYER OVER THE GRATE WHICH ACTS AS A BARRIER PREVENTING WATER FROM ENTERING THE BASIN. BECAUSE THE WATER CANNOT DRAIN PROPERLY, IT POOLS ON STREETS AND DRIVEWAYS THAT CAN FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS AND LEAK INTO HOME FOUNDATIONS.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
DIRECT YOUR MOWER CHUTE BACK ONTO YOUR LAWN RATHER THAN TOWARD THE STREET.
USE A BROOM OR LEAF BLOWER TO PUSH ANY ACCIDENTAL STREET CLIPPINGS BACK ONTO YOUR GRASS.

🚧🚨Paving Project Update🚧🚨
Gutelius Excavating has begun curb replacement and several sidewalk replacements.
Next week they will begin to do base repairs on trench lines that have settled; we anticipated this settling and is the main reason for not paving until after the winter months. They have also replaced a few catch basin inlets.
After trench lines are completed they will begin milling and complete roadway base repairs, then paving will begin.
Gutelius Excavating is leaning toward waiting to start paving until after school lets out so there will be less disruptions.

West Central Avenue – From Market Street to Clark Street
Clark Street – From Seagull Alley to West Central Avenue
Clinton Street – From West Mountain Avenue to West Central Avenue
Lowe Street – From West Central Avenue to West Southern Avenue
East Mountain Avenue – From Market Street to Hagerman’s Run Bridge

For the Residents of South Williamsport
