We are at an enhanced risk of fires getting out of control again today. Please use EXTREME caution if you have to burn any.

Dry conditions are expected today combined with breezy southwesterly winds gusting to 25 MPH will result in an elevated fire danger his afternoon. A cold front moves through Friday afternoon/evening, accompanied by showers and thunderstorms.

Be aware according to NWS there is an elevated risk for fires getting out of control. Please burn responsibily. Also remember we are still under a burn ban which means no burning 6am-6pm.

According to the NWS in Wilmington, OH...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING

The combination of dry and breezy conditions are creating elevated
fire danger across parts of south-central and southern Ohio this
afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values will be between 25 to
35 percent with wind gusts from the south between 15 and 20 mph.
Conditions improve early this afternoon as winds decrease. Similar
conditions are expected tomorrow.

Please adhere to any local burn laws that may be in effect for
your area.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman has issued a Level 3 Snow Emergency for Scioto County. A Level 3 Snow Emergency means that all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may be subject to arrest.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman has upgraded the Level 1 Snow Emergency to a Level 2 Snow Emergency. A Level 2 Snow emergency remains in effect for Scioto County. A Level 2 Snow Emergency means roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads.
