Splash Into Summer with two free Family Swim Nights at the Roxana Swimming Pool on Tuesday, June 9, and Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Hosted by Wood River Refinery and the Roxana Park District, this fun community event is a great way for families to kick off summer together. Edwardsville-YMCA and Lewis and Clark Community College will have info tables on-site to share details about the Phillips 66 swim lesson scholarship.

This event is part of the Phillips 66 water safety initiative in communities where we operate, helping families access resources and build confidence around water safety.

Pre-registration is not required, and families are welcome until the pool reaches capacity.

Congrats to Mason on a great career with the shells!

The Roxana Shells have a new strikeout leader!!! Mason broke the strikeout record today previously held by Logan Reardon at 235. Mason recorded his 236th strikeout in the top of 5th inning today. Mason also tied the school record for career wins with 19 today. Congratulations Mason!!

With the retirement of Chief Tim Dyer at last months trustee meeting Rob Kelly was promoted to Chief of the South Roxana FPD. Since them Michael Cherry was promoted to Deputy Chief and Lauren Clendenen was promoted to Lieutenant.

Just a little about your new command staff:

Lauren had been on the department for almost 3 years and is an EMR. She recently graduated police academy and is also an officer here in South Roxana.

Mike has been on the department for almost 5 years and has been in industrial firefighting full time for past 4 years . He is an EMR. He also serves as the training officer for the department.

Rob has been on the department for almost 4 years and has almost 20 years of firefighting experience. He is an EMT and also is an BSN-RN and has experience in level 1 trauma ER.
