The South Plainfield Public Celebrations Committee announces that there will be no open nominations for Honorary Grand Marshal for the 2026 South Plainfield Labor Day Parade.
As South Plainfield proudly celebrates its 100th Anniversary, the committee felt it was important to recognize this historic milestone in a way that honors the entire community and the many generations who have contributed to the borough’s growth and character. Rather than honoring a single individual, this year’s celebration is a tribute to the collective contributions that have made South Plainfield a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family.
For 100 years, South Plainfield has been shaped by the dedication, volunteerism, and civic pride of its residents, local organizations, businesses, and community leaders. The Labor Day Parade has long served as a cherished tradition, bringing neighbors together in celebration of shared history and hometown pride. This year’s theme,“Celebrating 100 Years of South Plainfield,” offers a meaningful opportunity to highlight the people, traditions, and shared values that have defined the borough over the past century.
Rest assured, this is a one-year change in recognition of the borough’s 100th Anniversary. The committee looks forward to resuming the Honorary Grand Marshal nomination process for the 2027 Labor Day Parade.
The committee encourages residents, past and present, to join together in celebrating this landmark celebration and to take pride in the role our entire community has played in reaching this remarkable 100-year milestone!
