This past weekend, NAPAC USA held their Annual General Meeting in Baltimore, MD. This meeting, which took place from Thursday Nov 2- Sunday Nov 5, was a chance for members and potential members to get a better understanding of who we are and what we do. As for New Jersey, our Chairman, Dr. Uchenna A. Onyeani DC summed it up in his following statement: NAPAC AGM WRAP-UP

Good Evening NAPACNJ:

As the weekend comes to an end and we prepare for the upcoming work week, I am proud to report that NAPACNJ had a VERY SUCCESSFUL weekend at the AGM in Maryland. We were able to accomplish a lot and we made a name for ourselves amongst our fellow state pacs and the national executive team.

I am happy to say that the majority of our new Executive Board, slated to get started in January 2024, were sworn in.

On top of that, NAPACNJ was recognized and pleasantly surprised when we were presented with an award by the NAPAC Board of Trustees for having the 4th highest membership total amongst all the state pacs throughout the country this year, “a small miracle”, as Madam VP of California stated prior to the award presentation.

Along with our surprise recognition, NIDO President Dr. Adeola Popoola, along with the NAPACNJ Executive Board, presented a proclamation from the City of Newark to NAPAC USA President Dr. Nelson Aluya, recognizing him for his accomplishments.

All in all, it was a great weekend with strong representation from our NJ State PAC, which was made possible because of you our members. Whether you showed up to our meetings and/or events, took part in our surveys, or voted in our recent elections, your participation was paramount in the growth of NAPAC NJ since I became your Chairman, and for that, I say thank you so much for everything you all did to make this year a huge success!

Please have a great week and as always, may God bless you all.

🇳🇬 Happy Nigeria Independence Day 2023! 🎉

A Message From Our Chairman:

On behalf of the Nigerian American Public Affairs Committee of New Jersey (NAPAC NJ), we celebrate the rich heritage and resilience of Nigerians both at home and abroad. Nigeria Independence Day symbolizes our journey towards freedom and self-determination.

For Nigerians in America, this day holds special significance. It's a reminder of the bonds that unite us across borders and a testament to the contributions we make to our adopted homeland. To advance economically and politically, we must:

1. Promote education: Investing in education empowers our community with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in various fields.

2. Foster unity: Together, we are stronger. Building strong networks and alliances within the Nigerian American community can drive progress.

3. Engage in civic activities: Active participation in local politics and advocacy for policies that benefit our community are vital steps.

4. Entrepreneurship: Encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting Nigerian-owned businesses can boost economic growth.

Let's continue to honor our heritage, celebrate our achievements, and work together for a brighter future, both in the United States and Nigeria. Happy Independence Day! 🇳🇬🇺🇸

Dr. Uchenna A. Onyeani DC
Chairman
