Thank you South Pasadena for your overwhelming support of Measure SP -74.84% of the vote!

Our community has repeatedly come out to support our schools and invest in the future of our students and our town. And for many of those who voted Tuesday, including members of this committee, they did so knowing that their own children, either grown or graduating, would not directly benefit from this measure. They took the long-view and recognized the importance of strong public schools for future generations of South Pasadena children.

We have something very special in our small, socio-economically and ethnically diverse community. We value public education and are willing to do what it takes to keep our schools and community strong. Something very special indeed.

It's not glamorous, but one of the facilities issues to be addressed by Measure SP is upgrading school site HVAC systems. Outdated HVAC systems are costly to maintain, unreliable, and inefficient. New energy efficient systems will reduce annual energy expenditures, cool facilities properly, and provide for cleaner air for our kids to breathe. Here are a few pics of our old and broken systems and dirty air ducts.

Tomorrow is the LAST day to register to vote in California. If you haven't registered to vote yet, you can register online using vote.gov. You can also fill-out a voter registration form at your local post-office.
