As November comes to a close we’re proud to reflect on a meaningful month for women in policing across Cameron County. Early in the month, South Padre Island officers attended a police women’s workshop hosted by Sheriff Manuel Trevino and Deputy Lisa Garcia where Chief O’Carroll had the honor of speaking to attendees. Later in November, the South Padre Island Police Department and CVB were grateful to partner with the Brownsville police department and Chief Felix Sauceda for a two day conference for female officers featuring Dr. Galia Cohen as the keynote speaker.

Happy National First Responders Day!

The South Padre Island Police Department is deeply dedicated to the safety and well-being of the entire SPI community. Our officers and staff are proud to stand as your local first responders.

We especially enjoyed connecting with so many of you during National Night Out! Those events are a fantastic reminder of the strong bond between our police department and the wonderful community we serve. Seeing your families and getting to chat with our neighbors is what community policing is all about.
