The Land Remembers. Do We? 🌲
Before borders. Before governments. Before anyone else—this was Native land.
The Cherokee. The Navajo. The Lakota. The Haudenosaurats. Countless nations thrived here for thousands of years, stewarding the earth with respect and wisdom.
Then came broken promises.
Treaties signed and shattered. Lands stolen. Peoples displaced. Sacred grounds desecrated.
But the fight isn't over.
Indigenous leaders across the nation are asking: Should stolen Native lands be returned?
Because returning land means:
💚 Honoring sacred commitments
💚 Protecting Mother Earth
💚 Restoring tribal self-determination
💚 Healing generations of injustice
💚 Building a respectful future
This is about accountability. This is about justice. This is about what we owe to the people who were here first.

Hollywood told you Native women stayed behind while men went to battle.
Hollywood was wrong.
Native American women fought alongside men in battle. The most well-known was Buffalo Calf Road Woman — a Northern Cheyenne warrior who fought at both the Battle of the Rosebud and the Battle of Little Bighorn. (Wikipedia)
Contrary to the patriarchal systems introduced by Europeans, many Native tribes operated within matrilineal structures — where lineage and inheritance passed through the mother's line. (Nativesunnews)
In many nations, women held political power, owned property, and made decisions that shaped their communities — centuries before women in Europe or America were granted those same rights.
The stereotype of the silent, passive Native woman was never true. It was invented — to erase the reality of who these women actually were.

Nathan Chasing Horse has been sentenced to life in prison in Nevada after being convicted on multiple sexu@l assault charges involving Indigenous women and girls.

A jury found him guilty of 13 counts, including charges involving a minor. Prosecutors said the conduct spanned nearly two decades.

In court, prosecutors said he used his self-described role as a spiritual leader to gain trust and access within Indigenous communities.

During sentencing, victims and their families addressed the court, describing lasting impacts. The outcome is being recognized as a significant moment of accountability.

Chasing Horse denied the allegations and called the outcome a “miscarriage of justice.”

He was also known for his role in Dances With Wolves.

Additional legal matters related to the case remain pending in Canada.

Mama knew best — Congress should have listened.

There was a time when the Senate did its homework instead of rushing decisions and approving anyone put in front of them. Think about how much damage could have been avoided, how many lives might have been protected.

Now, as more officials are being removed, the Senate has another opportunity to step up.

Senators: do your job.
