Sierra-at-Tahoe will be closed tomorrow January 11, 2017. In the past 24 hours we have seen 3 feet of snow, the bulk of this system has yet to arrive and is forecasted to go through 10am with another system behind it tomorrow. The conditions that Mother Nature is giving us make it extremely difficult to operate the mountain safely. Extreme snowfall, low visibility, high winds, and avalanche danger exist all over the mountain. While we’re just as excited to get out there and ride with you, your safety is our main concern. As it continues to unleash on us, we will be digging out and running avalanche routes to make sure the mountain is prepared when we reopen.
