asslands, and 222 research and experimental forests, as well as other special areas, covering more than 192 million acres of public land. The Forest Service has evolved into a 30,000 employee agency that manages the national forests for a number of multiple uses, including recreation, timber, wilderness, minerals, water, grazing, fish, and wildlife. Come and explore, discover, or rediscover the vast opportunities the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest has to offer. Visitors can find extensive trail systems for hiking, mountain biking, equestrian, and motorized vehicle use. Campgrounds, picnic and day-use areas, and historical and interpretive sites provide day-long or weekend vacation destinations. Scenic drives and breathtaking wilderness areas await discovery. Anglers and wildlife watchers can enjoy an abundance of streams, lakes, and diverse habitats supporting a variety of species. The Forest’s 2.1 million acres has something for everyone!

Salt Lake Ranger District
The Temple Quarry and White Pine Trailheads on the Salt Lake Ranger District will be closed on Saturday, June 6th from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm for a National Trails Day volunteer event. The closure is in effect for public safety while volunteers work in and around the trailheads.

Cyclist Reminder
Construction is continuing near the mouth of the canyon. Please stay out of work zones
and follow lane directions through the lane closures.
Adjacent Work
UDOT will be paving through logan canyon between MP 480.1 and MP 480.8 (Near
Tony Grove) from Monday, June 8 to Wednesday, June 10 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Expect flaggers to help with traffic control and up to 15 minutes of delays.
Bear Lake Marathon:
The “Bear Lake Trifecta Marathon" is held from Thursday, June 4 thru Saturday, June 6
from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expect additional delays due to heavy traffic through work
zones.
Upcoming Construction Activities
Construction activities will continue at intermittent locations throughout the canyon as
part of ongoing fiber installation activities. Crews will continue concrete vault installation,
junction box installation, and drilling operations. This work will progress
incrementally down the canyon toward Logan City on a weekly basis.
Lane closures will be present as work continues in the following locations:
• Milepost (MP) 462.2 to 462.5 (Near Second Dam)
• Milepost (MP) 468.8 to 470.1 (Near Card Canyon)
Shoulder closures will be present at the following location:
• Milepost (MP) 472.5 (Near Rick Springs)
• Milepost (MP) 477 (Near Temple Fork Rd)
