asslands, and 222 research and experimental forests, as well as other special areas, covering more than 192 million acres of public land. The Forest Service has evolved into a 30,000 employee agency that manages the national forests for a number of multiple uses, including recreation, timber, wilderness, minerals, water, grazing, fish, and wildlife. Come and explore, discover, or rediscover the vast opportunities the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest has to offer. Visitors can find extensive trail systems for hiking, mountain biking, equestrian, and motorized vehicle use. Campgrounds, picnic and day-use areas, and historical and interpretive sites provide day-long or weekend vacation destinations. Scenic drives and breathtaking wilderness areas await discovery. Anglers and wildlife watchers can enjoy an abundance of streams, lakes, and diverse habitats supporting a variety of species. The Forest’s 2.1 million acres has something for everyone!

MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY:
Construction activities will pause from Friday, May 22 at 12 p.m. through Tuesday,
May 26 at 7 a.m. Security and construction barrels will remain in place to protect the
work zones. All travel lanes will be open.
CONSTRUCTION ALERT:
Construction activities will continue at intermittent locations throughout the canyon as
part of ongoing fiber installation activities. After May 22* there will be no scheduled
weekend closures. Crews will clean the roadway and remove traffic signals by
Friday afternoon.
Crews will continue concrete vault installation, junction box installation, and
drilling operations. This work will progress incrementally down the canyon
toward Logan City on a weekly basis.
Lane closures will be present as work continues in the following locations:
• Milepost (MP) 463 to 465 (Near Second Dam)
• Milepost (MP) 466.2 to 467.2 (Near Third Dam)
Shoulder closures will be present at the following locations:
• Milepost (MP) 476.9 (Near Temple Fork Rd)
• Milepost (MP) 481 (Near Tony Grove)
A single lane shift will be present at the following location:
• Milepost (MP) 461.5 to 461.7 (Near the Mouth of the Canyon)
CAUTION: Motorcyclists, Cyclists, and Drivers
There are trenches, uneven road surfaces, and loose gravel throughout the corridor.
Please use caution and prioritize safety while traveling through the construction
area. Reduce speed, follow posted signage, and be alert of crew members and
equipment.

Several projects are planned for the Causey Reservoir area in the Ogden Ranger District that will improve the recreation experience for visitors. Project work has begun and will continue through December 2027. Recreation use in the area has increased significantly resulting in impacts on infrastructure and creating safety issues for visitors.
