The Village of South Jacksonville, Illinois, has declared a snow emergency from Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 7 AM until Monday, January 26, 2026, at 7 AM.

This emergency includes specific snow emergency routes on East and West Greenwood, East Vandalia, South Diamond, Lincoln, and Hardin Avenues.

**Snow Emergency Procedures:**
- Do not park on snow emergency routes.
- Move any vehicles parked on snow emergency routes.
- Avoid unnecessary travel.
- Drive carefully and reduce your speed.
- Maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
- Yield to snowplows and emergency vehicles.
- Carry an emergency kit in your vehicle.
- Stay informed about road conditions and emergency announcements.

**Snow Emergency Tips:**
Residents are encouraged to avoid parking on the streets altogether whenever possible. Those clearing private sidewalks and parking lots are reminded not to push snow into public streets.
