FYI…Snow Emergency

The Village of South Jacksonville, Illinois, has declared a snow emergency from Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 7 AM until Monday, January 26, 2026, at 7 AM.

This emergency includes specific snow emergency routes on East and West Greenwood, East Vandalia, South Diamond, Lincoln, and Hardin Avenues.

**Snow Emergency Procedures:**
- Do not park on snow emergency routes.
- Move any vehicles parked on snow emergency routes.
- Avoid unnecessary travel.
- Drive carefully and reduce your speed.
- Maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
- Yield to snowplows and emergency vehicles.
- Carry an emergency kit in your vehicle.
- Stay informed about road conditions and emergency announcements.

**Snow Emergency Tips:**
Residents are encouraged to avoid parking on the streets altogether whenever possible. Those clearing private sidewalks and parking lots are reminded not to push snow into public streets.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first-ever Lego contest at the Steam Show on Saturday. It was a great turnout and we hope everyone had a good time! We even had a couple kiddos finish the whole kit in less than 30 minutes🤯
