The Cheney Lake Watershed hosted the Annual Kansas WRAPS meeting last week. Day 1 was at the Afterdeck on the banks of Cheney Lake, special thanks to the Ninnescah Sailing Association for allowing us to use the facility. We did a short tour to see some projects that the Watershed works with. Stop 1 was with Chad Basinger and family looking at how cover crops affect aggregate stability. Stop 2 was with 3 S Cattle looking at how a change in management of livestock led to a retired feeding area and a field seeded to warm season perennial grasses. Here are some the pics from the day. Deb Ary and Logan Walker with the City of Wichita shared about the over 30 year partnership between the City and the Watershed.

On Friday, April 17 area farmers gathered to see a solar powered pressurized livestock water system in action. This one uses pipeline with quick connectors to allow for a moveable water source. The cost share for this came from WRAPS and City of Wichita.
